BEATRIZ is a multi-hyphenate music artist whose practice focuses on creating a whole new lane for experimental electronic music and genrebending pop. Her music is a direct reflection of her soul, carving out an emotional journey often likened to cinematic soundtracks. She takes a selective approach in curating her music, producing each song and having a hand in audio engineering every track. The Minneapolis based “synth songstress” first started making songs on GarageBand on her Dad’s old Mac. Eventually, found that having a phone made it easy to make music in the quiet of her room, allowing her to release any expectations of perfection by playing with unconventional sounds. When she was a teenager she was recording songs like “are u out of touch” into her wired headphones and producing “Love Witch” with stock synths on garageband. Over time, her sound has sharpened into a musical dagger, ready to pierce you with sonic waves similar to artists like James Blake, Kelela, and Trent Reznor. After years of honing her craft, BEATRIZ is releasing her single I THINK WE ALL HOLD THE CROSS, a gut-wrenching prelude to her next project, PANTHERA. She explores themes of grief, sensuality, religion, and power in her upcoming releases by building an avant world that is undeniably hers.
