  alone-a, the solo project of Minneapolis sound and performance maker Alana Horton, explores memory and moment through tapestries of voice, digital delays, and signal processing. Every sound comes from her voice, transformed through an ever-evolving Max/MSP instrument to surprising, chaotic, and ecstatic ends. Her debut album, a veil, a prism, was released in April 2026 on Bumpy Records and captures improvised moments from performances in Minneapolis and Chicago, collaged into new forms with producer and mix engineer Christian Erickson (The Sevateem, Astronaut Wife). “Crystalline vocals and pristine electronic movements... recall the shimmering instrumental sketches collected on Arthur Russell’s First Thought Best Thought.” — Spenser Tomson, The Wire Magazine “There’s a haunting intimacy to the record, as though the artist is whispering directly into the space between thoughts.
