Artist Bio's: Spike and the Gandy Dancers: Peter VanDusartz (aka Spike) assembled the Gandy Dancers to help fulfill the latest leg of his songwriter's quest. The debut album “What You Gonna Be?” is a dynamic collection of 11 songs coined by Spike, co-produced by Minneapolis' John Munson, recorded by a village of seasoned Minneapolis musicians, and released on limited edition custom vinyl with full gatefold artwork. The rich mix of songs showcases VanDusartz's luscious baritone vocals across a style spectrum brimming with pop hooks and epic rock solos alongside acoustic folk and an almost cinematic oompah waltz. Spike brings his select crew of master Gandy Dancers to IceHouse to rollick his songs live. j. bell & the Lazy Susan Band: With twangy guitars, luscious harmonies, B3 organ blasts, honky-tonk piano and a horn section, j.bell & the Lazy Susan Band straddles Americana, blues, & country, while maintaining that they are simply “straight up rock & roll”. At this Icehouse show, they will be releasing their seventh full length album, titled "All. Right. Now." This new recording is somehow both unique and quintessential, putting their wide range of influences and songwriting chops on full display. Their hometown audience is anticipating a celebration of this milestone with one of the Lazy Susan Band's most energetic and memorable performances. The Toolmasters: The Twin Cities have many first class tribute bands, but up until this year no bands had been paying tribute to the wonderful music of Trip Shakespeare and that situation needed to be corrected with the formation of The Toolmasters. The Toolmasters play the beautiful songs from the entire 1986-1992 career of Trip Shakespeare as well as some music from Semisonic and Matt Wilson's later releases. “We love them so much!”
