Canadian artist Mimi Oz is an experimental vocalist with the ability to jump between genres seamlessly. A folk based songwriter channeling 50s and 60s pop, writing jazz tinged, soul driven, and rock’n’roll charged original songs crafted from the heart and New York City. A punk drummer and an opera singer started a band to sing classic country duets! But we didn’t stop there, we also write nostalgic sounding originals, dabble in traditional folk music and early rockabilly. All the while bringing our signature recipe of SPARKLES & DIRT.

Boots & Needles combines the talents of Lauren Asheim and Dallas Cornell and features Vintage Country, Traditional, and Rockabilly vibes. You may recognize Lauren from past bands including The Hula Peppers and Slippery People. She has also trod the boards as an actor and vocalist all over the Twin Cities including the Guthrie Theater, the History Theater, Mixed Precipitation and more. Dallas brings a wealth of musical skills and an eye for design to the duo and also plays with the Cornell Power Service. Known as the “human metronome” and a skilled sewing artist, he is full of surprises. On lead guitar is the incomparable Darryl Cornell! On fiddle and vocals is the fabulous Aubrey Weger! On bass is the very solid and creative Makai Catudio! They aim to share their love of all things country with some sparkles and dirt and a few more unexpected pairings along the way…
